Peer Review

Double-Blind Peer Review

The journal Con Ciencia Forense, from Ciencia por la Verdad, implements a double-blind peer review system. Reviewers are not part of the editorial team, ensuring the quality, impartiality, and scientific rigor of all our publications. This method guarantees that both reviewers and authors remain anonymous during the evaluation process, minimizing biases and promoting an objective analysis of the content.

Editorial Process Stages

Manuscript Submission: The manuscript is received and preliminarily evaluated by the editorial team to verify its compliance with editorial guidelines and alignment with the journal’s themes and objectives.

Reviewer Assignment: After passing the initial evaluation, the manuscript is sent to expert reviewers in the relevant subject area. Reviewers are selected based on their experience and knowledge, ensuring qualified evaluations.

Anonymous Evaluation: Reviewers analyze the manuscript based on criteria such as originality, relevance, methodology, coherence, results, and contributions to the field of study. Throughout this process, the identity of both authors and reviewers remains hidden to ensure neutrality in the evaluations.

Review Report: Reviewers issue a detailed report with comments, observations, and recommendations, which may include:

  • Acceptance: The manuscript meets all required standards.
  • Minor or major revisions: Corrections or significant improvements are requested from the authors.
  • Rejection: The manuscript does not meet the established academic or quality standards.

Editorial Decision: The editorial committee makes the final decision on the manuscript's publication, considering the reviewers' reports. If corrections are requested, authors must resubmit the revised version for reevaluation.

Follow-up and Communication: Authors are promptly informed about the status of their manuscript throughout the entire process.

Reviewer Recognition

At Con Ciencia Forense, we value the work of our reviewers, whose contributions are essential to the journal’s quality and scientific rigor. Therefore, we offer the following forms of recognition:

  • Certificate of Recognition: Reviewers receive an official certificate accrediting their participation in the peer review process.
  • Public Acknowledgment: With their consent, reviewers' names may be included in an annual acknowledgment list published on the journal's website as part of our transparency and gratitude policy.
  • Publication Discounts: Reviewers may access discounts on publication fees for their own manuscripts once they have passed the review phase.

Contributing as a reviewer is a recognized merit in the academic field, strengthening the professional profile and fostering connections with the scientific community.
