PUBLICATION CHARGES (APC) – CON-CIENCIA FORENSE JOURNAL
The Con-Ciencia Forense Journal applies an Article Processing Charge (APC) to cover the costs related to editing, design, formatting, and dissemination of scientific articles. These charges are determined once the manuscript has successfully passed the double-blind peer review process, ensuring the sustainability of our open-access model and maintaining high editorial quality.
Fee Structure
- Scientific Articles: A publication fee is established to cover editing, similarity check, digital identifier assignment, and dissemination on academic platforms.
- Technical Notes and Reviews: Reduced fees apply to case studies, systematic reviews, and articles of technical interest.
- Special Cases: For sponsored research or articles with greater technical complexity, costs may vary depending on the required editorial processing level.
Waivers and Discounts
The Con-Ciencia Forense Journal offers partial or full waivers for authors with financial constraints or those affiliated with institutions in developing countries. These requests will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis, prioritizing knowledge dissemination without compromising editorial quality.
Discounts are also available for authors affiliated with institutions that have collaboration agreements with the journal, as well as for those who have served as peer reviewers in previous editions.
Services Included in the Fees
The APC covers the following editorial services:
- Plagiarism and similarity detection using specialized software.
- Professional formatting and editorial design following scientific standards.
- DOI assignment and registration in indexed databases.
- Dissemination on academic platforms and digital repositories.
Transparency and Accountability
The Con-Ciencia Forense Journal upholds a policy of transparency regarding cost structure and ensures that APCs reflect only the services provided. Authors may contact us to clarify any concerns or request detailed information about applicable fees.
Our policy aims to balance the financial sustainability of our operations with the promotion of universal access to scientific knowledge in the fields of criminalistics and forensic sciences.
Editorial Independence
The Con-Ciencia Forense Journal guarantees that all editorial decisions are based solely on the quality, originality, and scientific relevance of manuscripts, following a rigorous double-blind peer review process.
The payment of APCs does not influence the acceptance or rejection of a manuscript.
Our commitment to academic integrity and scientific excellence means that:
- Manuscripts are evaluated impartially, based solely on their scientific and technical merit.
- The peer review process is independent and anonymous.
- Authors are notified of the editorial decision before any payment request.
APCs apply only to manuscripts accepted for publication, aiming to cover editorial processing costs and ensure open access to knowledge.
